Raajaa Chandrasekar began his career in the feature film industry and perfected the nuances of the craft during his association with Bharathiraja as Associate Director for many projects. Muthal Mariyaathai, Kadalorak kavithaikal, Oru kaithiyin dairy, Vedham puthidhu are some of the significant movies.
He has worked with three of Santhosh Sivan’s movies - Terrorist, Malli, and Navarasa - all of which won considerable critical acclaim. He wrote the dialogue for the movie “Terrorist”, which won many international Awards. A well – known international film Critic Mr. Roger Ebert has mentioned this movie as one of his 100 most favourite movies list.
He wrote both the dialogues and the lyrics for the feature film “Malli”, which is also a national award winner. He was involved in the screenplay of the film “Navarasa” and he wrote the dialogue for the same. He wrote the dialogue and lyrics for the movie 'In the name of Buddha'.
His powerful dialogues in the tamil movie "Kuppi" has been widely appreciated by media and public. He is also making short films. Four of his notable short films are:
